Neuroscience is fascinating.
It shouldn't be this hard to explain.
Most science writing is either dumbed down or impenetrable. I write about neuroscience, psychology and mental health in a way that's rigorous enough for scientists and readable enough for everyone else.

About me
The brain behind
the writing.
Science has a communication problem. The research is extraordinary but most people never get to experience it because it's locked behind jargon, paywalls and writing that mistakes complexity for credibility.
I'm Laura, a Clinical Scientist in Neuropathology and Research Neuroscientist based in Dublin, Ireland. I've spent years studying the brain professionally, which means I understand the science well enough to know exactly how to explain it to someone who doesn't.
I write about neuroscience, psychology and mental health for curious minds who want more than the headline and for organisations that have realised that getting the science wrong is costly for both credibility and trust.
What I write about
Three fields.
Infinite questions.
The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. Understanding it, and explaining it clearly, is what I do.
From molecules to behaviour: how the brain builds our entire experience of the world. Translated for curious minds who want the real science, not a simplified version of it.
The science of how we think, feel, decide, and occasionally catastrophise. Grounded in research, without pop-psychology shortcuts, just written with the nuance the field deserves.
Evidence-based writing that bridges clinical science and lived experience. Accurate, compassionate, and free from the kind of reductive framing that does more harm than good.

Structured Procrastination: When Being Productive Becomes Avoidance
High-achievers often avoid their most important work by filling their time with other genuinely useful tasks. This piece explores what the neuroscience of effort, decision-making and self-regulation tells us about why, and what the research suggests we can do about it.

Getting the science wrong is expensive.
Getting it right starts here.
I work with publications, organisations and science-adjacent brands that need writing built on real expertise. Based in Dublin, Ireland.
My expertise and specialisation lies in neuroscience, psychology and mental health.
Accurate enough to satisfy a scientist and engaging enough for everyone else.
Your audience will understand it and your scientists will respect it.
Health, wellness and science-adjacent brands that need content built on real expertise.
Science-first content for brands and researchers who want to build a credible presence on social media without sacrificing accuracy for engagement.
Scientific review and fact-checking for neuroscience and psychology content before it goes live and someone finds the mistake for you.
White papers, educational guides, explainer content. If it needs a neuroscientist to write it well and a human to make it readable that's the overlap I work in.
